Let’s Meet New Agent Justin Doughtery

Q: How long have you been a realtor and why did you enter the industry?
A: I’ve been a Realtor for just under a year. I decided to get into real estate because I truly enjoy connecting with and helping people however I can. I find the idea of making what is arguably one of the biggest decisions of one’s life, buying a home, something fun and approachable, very exciting.

Q: What motivates you the most?
A: Connecting with people and creating relationships. It’s an idea that’s commonly used when answering this question, but I very sincerely live to talk with and get to know people. Think of me as a professional party guy, but with smarts and know-how.

Q: What is your favorite part of the job?
A: Socializing, and being able to connect people with the professionals and services that they need. I like being a go-to source of calm and understanding.

Q: What do you do when you’re not working at Amare?
A: I’ve recently started spending quite a bit of time at the gym. While I’ve also always been a fan of an action RPG video game, I only weeks ago created my first D&D character, and I’m stoked to get into the world of that kind of gaming.

Q: What sports teams do you follow?
A: No thank you.

Q: Favorite movies?
A: Young Frankenstein, To Wong Foo, the first 3 Aliens movies.

Q: Favorite TV Shows?
A: Martin, Living Single, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Scrubs

Q: Pets?
A: Love animals, never have had one of my own.

Q: What social media do you use most regularly?
A: I’m fairly luddite in that arena, but I’m catching up. I have an Instagram at current,

Q: What was the last book you read?
A: Star Wars: Children of the Jedi.

Q: Favorite outdoor activities?
A: Farming and growing things, hiking.

Q: If you could have any kind of car, what would you get and why?
A: The greenest car possible. Honestly, one of those hippie-mobiles that run on vegetable oil would do me just fine.

Q: What would be your ultimate vacation?
A: An ultra-vegan retreat where I learn to can and pickle things and to grow everything I could possibly need to live.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone who would it be?
A: My Grandma Barbara. As I’m to understand it, we would have been two peas in a pod if she had been alive while I was growing up.

Q: What are some of the customer service things you’re proud of at Amare and describe your view of what exceptional customer service is?
A: I feel as though there are a lot of common or stock responses to this kind of question in this business. I can say with absolutely no schmaltz or treacly sweet suck-uppery that Victoria Attanasio is the epitome of what anyone could want in a boss or mentor. The good vibes at Amare overfloweth, and the amount of experience available to me shan’t be overlooked either. I’ve already seen personalized candies and pies and goodie boxes o-plenty, and I’ve only been at Amare for a few weeks as I write this. There are times in one’s life that can be looked back upon as “thank goodness I did that!” moments. Joining the Amare team is unequivocally one of those moments for me.

Q: Anything else interesting about you that you’d like to share with us?
A: Yes, in addition to English, I also speak Spanish and Italian.
